NORM ZABALA

Guitars & Vocals

Norm was born in Manila, Philippines and moved to Canada when he was six years old.
While growing up in Canada he taught himself to play bass, guitar and mandolin. This drive to play led him on to various projects including
the writing and recording of various commercial releases for The Cherry Pickers, Favorite Nation and Johnny Owen and The Redeemers.
He has gathered much attention by opening for very successful acts such as Blue Rodeo, Jeff Healey, April Wine, Bachman Turner Overdrive
and Jimmy Vaughan to name just a few. When the legendary Montreal Forum was to close, he was one of the chosen few
to play the closing festivities. Not only has he been associated with some of the most successful music groups
in Montreal but he has performed solo in Canada, The Philippines and Mexico.
He has played private parties to large scale rock shows and puts the same enthusiasm into every show.
Whether alone or as part of Tangoluna, he is a guitarist who believes that the “show is the thing”.
He now teaches guitar in the Montreal area, as well as, playing with Tangoluna here and abroad.
